Rohingya Community Participates in "Refugee Alternatives Conference 2018"

the Refugee Alternatives Conference 2018, co-hosted by the University of Melbourne and Refugee Council of Australia in University of Melbourne on 14 Feb 2018.

Habib from ABRO & ARNA and Junaid from BRCA presented about Ongoing Genocide in Arakan state from June 2012 and briefed the past crises of 1994-95, 1991, 1978 and Diaspora situation in Transit Countries and discussed about Solutions..

Paricipants include many representatives from Department of Home Affairs, local NGOs, INGOs including MSF and Amnesty International, experts, individuals, human rights lawyers, academics, volunteers and Karen and Chin leaders, other refugee communities..

The plights of Rohingya received very strong support by all participants. Motions passed by Parsuram Sharma-LuitalJP strongly urged the Refugee Council to recommend the Australian government to resettle 20,000 Rohingya refugees.
